This Ocean Shell whole pāua shell showcases the natural brilliance of New Zealand’s iconic abalone, prepared in a variety of artisan finishes to suit both decorative and functional display. Sustainably sourced from the pristine waters of Aotearoa, each shell is unique in colour, shape, and natural character.
Our available finishes include:
- Full Polished with Lacquer – Gloss-polished on both front and back to enhance the natural iridescence and create a striking, mirror-like shine.
- Half Polished with Lacquer – One half polished to highlight the vivid inner colours; the other half retains its natural outer texture.
- Spiral Polished with Lacquer – Carefully polished in a spiral motion to reveal intricate growth patterns and layered colour transitions.
These shells are perfect for display, gifting, carving, cultural art, or ceremonial use. No two are alike - each shell carries the unique marks of its underwater journey.

Full Polished
- Premium: 120–150mm (5"–6")
- Supreme: 150–165mm (6"–6.5")
- Supreme Plus: 165–170mm (6.5"–6.7")
