This premium selection of New Zealand pāua shell (Haliotis iris) features jewellery-grade, Grade A shells hand-selected for their rich colouration, natural patterns, and exceptional thickness. Harvested wild from Aotearoa’s pristine coastal waters, these pāua shells are uncleaned and in raw condition, ideal for artisans who prefer to shape and finish their materials by hand.

Each shell in this collection is:

• Heavier and thicker than standard shells – specifically chosen for jewellery applications requiring grinding, shaping, or high-polish finishing.
• Raw and natural – not cleaned, allowing full control over how the surface is prepared and polished.
• Mixed in style and form – perfect for creative projects that benefit from variation in shell shape and edge.

Colouring:

• Natural Pāua: Classic bright blue and green tones, commonly found in New Zealand pāua and known for their vibrant ocean-inspired hues.
• Hand-Selected Blue Pāua: Rare blue and purple colouring, highly prized in jewellery for its rich, cool tones - less common than the usual green/blue mix.
• Sunset Pāua: Exceptionally rare pink and orange tones, offering a warm, standout look compared to traditional pāua colours.
